Kerencia Collective is an upcoming fashion pop-up that curates local Canadian designers and gives them a storefront and an audience to display their work.

We were requested to design an application to support the in-store experience that KC offers. Their store is always lively, with music, entertainment and a strong community of like-minded fashion enthusiasts who bring energy to the space. We wanted the app to enhance, rather than distract from the experience. We took a minimalistic approach, allowing users to use the app to get to know the designers and where their clothes are coming from, they can also scan the QR code on the tags in-store to learn about the designer as well. The app also functions as a way to notify users of upcoming events and designers. Users can purchase pieces off the app as well, we designed a fun “Hot or Not” game to engage our audience, and provide a fun way to browse our selections.

Overall, the app was a resounding success. 83% of users stated that they had no problem navigating the app and enjoyed using it. We found that users spent an average of 22% increase on time browsing when playing the “Hot or Not” game and 10% purchase increase when playing the game rather than traditional browsing.
